What is the most important attitude you would like to teach your child?
I would say that the most important attitude I teach my daughter is to always be positive. Now we all know that being always positive is impossible, but we can work towards it.
First thing is to eliminate is giving too much of importance to negative emotions. “My classmate said this about me”, “My teacher hates me” and statements like these build a ‘story’ in their minds. If they start to take take things easy they will realise that comments by others are just like passing clouds- they are not meant to stay; before you know it, they are gone.
Second thing is to help them change the negative feelings into positive feelings. How do they do it? Simple- just start thinking of all the good things that they have in life whenever they feel down. It’s not going to be easy but it’s going to be worth it!
A positive mind can create a positive dream,
A positive dream can create a positive child,
A positive child can create a positive world.
