We need to keep changing with time………

We all know that we need to keep changing with times, but are we doing that?

I read a very interesting article shared by a friend of mine today morning and it made me think a bit more than usual. Are we changing with times, or rather, are we changing enough with times?

At the age of 16, I had to beg my mum to get a pager. Most parents at that time felt that a pager and stuff like that were only for adults. Now, my 11-year-old daughter is running around with an iPhone. Can I deny her the use of technology because I didn’t get to use one at her age? Well I can, but my daughter will hate me throughout her life..Lol!

Well this is what my friend shared:

During the press conference to announce NOKIA being acquired by Microsoft, Nokia CEO ended his speech saying this, “We didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost”. Upon saying that, all in his management team, himself included, teared sadly.

Nokia was a respectable company. They didn’t do anything wrong in their business. However, the world changed too fast. Their opponents were too powerful.

They missed out on learning, and on changing, and thus they lost the opportunity at hand to make it big. Not only did they miss the opportunity to earn big money, they lost their chance of survival.

The message of this story is- if you don’t change, you shall be removed from the competition.

It’s not wrong if you don’t want to learn new things. However, if your thoughts and mindset cannot catch up with time, you will be eliminated.

Conclusion:
1. The advantage you had yesterday will be replaced by the trends of tomorrow. You don’t have to do anything wrong, as long as your competitors catch the wave and do it RIGHT, you can lose out and fail.

2. To change and improve yourself is giving yourself a second chance. To be forced by others to change, is like being discarded.

Those who refuse to learn and improve, will definitely one day become redundant and no longer relevant to the industry. Its a fact….

When I was 21, my favourite handphone brand was Nokia…. in fact, it was cool to be seen using one till I was 31. 6 years down the road, the whole brand is gone. iPhone was the most “in” thing 6 years ago . Samsung gave a good fight and now they are both on par. If Samsung did not evolve, it could have become another Nokia or Blackberry.

We are in the same situation. Regardless of the position that we are in, we must keep improving ourselves. That’s the reason why we MUST have a dream. When you have a dream and a burning desire to achieve it, you will keep working towards it. You will compel yourself to keep improving to achieve your dream.

DREAM + ACTION = SUCCESS
